Puget Sound Residential Services (PSRS), a non-profit corporation, was established in 1983 to provide intensive tenant support to four deaf blind developmentally disabled adults in the Renton Highlands. The organization was incorporated as a 501C3 in 1985. Since its inception PSRS has grown to support 33 participants.
The support needs of each individual is unique and PSRS strives to meet every participant at her or his need level and to tailor fit services to enhance abilities.
The objective of PSRS services is to support participants to experience a high quality of life by increasing the ability to accomplish activities of daily living and fostering participation and inclusion in the community. The underlying guide to PSRs services is to remain soundly dedicated to supporting participants to exercise personal power, informed choice making, and self determination. With these three ideals as cornerstones of our philosophy, PSRs strives to support participants to experience optimal health and mental health; engagein fulfilling relationships; strengthen ability to communicate effectively; experience safe environments; achieve positive status within their community; maintain financial stability, and purse and engage in gainful employment.
