2003 NW Foodservice Show
Jobdango had a great time meeting with the industry
leaders at the 2003 NW Foodservice show!
It's Your Show! We hope you were one of the 12,484
attendees who visited the Oregon Convention Center
March 29th through 31st.
It was a great turnout, and the numbers show it!
Northwest Foodservice Show had a total of 12,484*
registered attendees, plus an additional 3,277 exhibitor
staff members. The trade show featured 570 booths.
For three days, the building was transformed into
a marketplace full of food and beverage products,
foodservice equipment, small wares, technology for
foodservice establishments, and more.
This year’s show saw a jump in the number of
Owner/Operators in attendance (3425, up from 2996).
A total of 2946 Managers/Buyers attended (up from
2831). We also saw more Chefs and Cooks (1363, up
from 955).
More than 7,500 of the attendees had buying authority!
In past years, we typically saw much less attendance
from out-of-state. This year, however, there was
a significant increase in the number of out-of-state
attendees traveling to the show, making it an even
more effective way to reach the entire region.
A total of 4,129 came down from Washington to the
2003 show in Portland, alongside the 7,984 Oregonians.
In addition, we had 109 Idaho attendees, 72 Montana
attendees, 50 California attendees, and 50 Alaskan
and Canadian attendees.
Nearly every category of business type that we tracked
had higher attendance. Most significantly, the
Full Service Restaurant category rose from 3,168
attendees in 2002 to 3,705 attendees in 2003. Also,
Hotel/Motel/Lodging category rose from 299 to 558
attendees, Hospital Foodservice rose from 377 to
552, Bar/Tavern rose from 332 to 541, and Catering
rose from 792 to 1,096. Coffeehouse/Tea Room and
Grocery/Convenience Store categories rose slightly,
while Fast Food/Quick Serve held steady at 1200.
